Today, I went for the first time to my CCA, Wushu. It was not as tough as I thought it would be. Surprisingly, there were more guys than girls, which was the opposite of previous years.
After everyone was gathered, we proceeded to the first and most important part of the CCA -- warm-up! Stretching and swinging of the legs were not too difficult but the worst had yet to come! The captain of the club (he allowed us to address him as captain) requested us to do splits. It was so hilarious as none of us was able to spilt perfectly. However, he assured us that girls would be able to master it by 6 months while guys would take almost a year.
Next, we proceeded to some of the basic moves of learning Wushu. We learnt 5 moves today but I only remembered two of the names: 弓步冲拳 and 弹腿 。
The base of my shoes together with the floor made it too slippery, that there was no friction and I kept sliding down when doing the moves. I was so embarrassed when I kept doing splits instead of the moves (when we were sort of doing 弓步冲拳) as it was simply too slippery in the hall. Overall, it was fun and enriching.
I hope that I will perform the moves better, like I will be able to kick higher or even hit with more force! A few more weeks later, we will play with weapons and we will be able to choose the weapon that we would like to practise! Yeah! I think I am going to pick swords! Hohoho...
